You can actually mount the PK+MM to a Pentax film SLR but the aperture stop down coupler of the K(AF), K(A), K (original) mount would prevent OM and CY mount lenses from mounting in. No problem in mounting for Nikon F and Konica AR lens. So as to say, PK+MM is only able to accept all the different mounts on a KAF (crippled) SLR which is the *ist.
Plastic mounts from MZ-30, MZ-50, etc have different screws and will not fit although they are KAF(crippled) mount.
I am in the progress of testing the different film SLR compatiablity with PK+MM and will update as soon I am am done with them.

Minolta SR mount is smaller than K mount and cannot fit tight. No focus to infinity as register distance is 43.5mm. Some adapter is required.
The AF mount which is Alpha mount I have not tried yet. No focus to infinity too as register distance is 44.5mm.

A few people may still remember my winning entry to last year Pentax Forum K-30 giveaway where I shared my “Influential gear” ( PentaxForum Entry ), a self modified K mount ring to accept Nikon F, Olympus OM, Contax/Yashica C/Y and Konica AR* mounts lenses in addition to K mount on my Pentax K-r.
As the response then was encouraging and as promised, I have made it into a commercially available product which I called it Pentax K+ Multi-Mount (PK+MM). There is now no need for users to try DIY now since they can now replace it with this new mount ring instead.
Here is the photo of the PK+MM on my K-r.

The concept behind this possibility is although different camera mounts are different, by re-designing the K mount, I managed to allow the mounting of other mounts as mentioned. No adapter is required and no lens modifications required except for a minor one for C/Y mount. Of course, there are lens mount markings for the different mounts but lens locking is not available. However, the lenses do stay on quite snugly with the leaf spring in the camera body holding on to them. Operation wise is same as using M42 screw mount lenses.

I will share a few photos, especially for those who are interested in adapting lenses.

Nikon 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF on Pentax K-r beside Nikon SLR N90s

Olympus Zuiko-S 50mm F/1.4 on Pentax K-r beside Olympus OM-1N with Zuiko Auto-MACRO 50mm F/3.5 with Varimagni Finder attached.

Yashica ML 50mm f/2.0 on Pentax K-r beside Contax 167MT and Yashica FX-3

Currently, only the version for non-WR bodies is completed and available. I am still working on the more complicated WR version. And these are made in my home country, Singapore.
If you are interested to know more details, you can visit my website: Adaptist
count me in when you have a weather proof version. I just picked up a K-3 as a 2nd camera for my Nikon D800 kit and your invention would be most useful to enable the use my Nikkor glass in an emergency.

Thank you for your clever engineering and persistence!

Michael

One of my buddies ordered the adapter. I'm looking forward to his review.

I just finished testing PK+MM with some film SLRs. The findings are linked below. I cannot test all but they should apply in most cases.

Also, a product video of PK+MM is ready for those interested.

You should take this project to Kickstarter.

+1 for that. I think you'd likely get a good reception.

I had considered that option before but huge amounts of funds was not really required for this product to materialise. And to gather publicity through Kickstarter seems to require more efforts (with less results) than posting on Pentaxforum especially when you have a product that appeals only to Pentaxians AND manual focus users. If those that received their PK+MM would post their own short review of it, that would be a good spread of news.

Will definitely post a review once I receive mine, should be soon.

Any thoughts on using this mount with heavier lenses? I also have on the way a C/Y mount Sigma 180 f/2.8 Apo Macro, which is at 1350g quite a hefty lens. I plan on drilling a hole for the pin to lock, but I'm a bit worried about the strength of the modified tabs of the camera mount. Either this way or via mount swap this lens is going on the K-5

I wish there was a way to continue to use the Nikon lenses on Nikons and get infinity focus.

I guess that I could put this on an ME Super and use it as I do with M42 glass.

Some Nikkors focus past infinity. My Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 is one such beast.

well neither my 60mm Micro Nikkor nor my Nikkor 14-24mm will focus past infinity, so it is clear that Nikkors that focus past infinity are not the "norm" -- perhaps some of the older glass is more likely than newer designs. Still, it seems that all that is needed is a small shim which this guy is providing in his kit.

So, just to clarify this won't work on cameras such as the K30/50 or K5, II, IIs?

I am going to purchase a DSLR that will be able to use my Nikon lenses (nikkor p,q, etc). I would really like it to be a Pentax and not a Nikon dslr that I choose.
