I purchased my K-3 last month and it's been fun and interesting learning about my camera and how to use it. Since then I have picked up a K200D - mainly because I wanted a camera with a CCD sensor and also a K20D body with grip.
Both were comparatively "dirt cheap" especially compared to their original selling prices and now I get to play with & share lenses on 3 cameras.
Has anyone else here suffered from this addiction or am I a rare case...

The K1000s and MEs start to pile up after a while.

I have a K100D, K200D, and a K-30...plus a film MZ-5N, plus various "interesting" cameras I've picked up along the way. The K100D is converted to IR, so it's still very useful, and my K200D works perfectly except that, with something like 130,000 shots, the battery meter isn't reliable. I think most of us tend to collect cameras from the opposite direction - i.e. older and more basic to newer and more advanced - so in that respect, you're probably a bit of an outlier. Still, I can't imagine ever getting rid of my old cameras unless their shutters stop firing. And then I might just keep them as paperweights

Those are all Asahi Except the 3 Spotmatics, those are Honeywell. I only own 1 Ricoh at the moment, 2 if you include the Sears T-L-S. (And my K-5 says Ricoh on the bottom )

Besides, most were just rear caps to lenses I wanted. The latest ME Super was a rear cap for a K 50/1.4.

And I forgot the LX , so 22.

Not counting the few random point and shoots around the place (no idea where they are, they're garbage anyway)


Pentax ME - fully functional, my #1 used body.
Pentax *istDS - onboard flash broken, rest all good still. (purchased off my dad)
Pentax A3 - mirror sticks, removed the old foam so seems to work now.
Pentax SP1000 - GF's father's before he died. Still works 100%, even the 30 year old battery.

Canon EOS 500
Canon EOS 1000 (might be wrong with the numbers, they're only here because they belonged to my gf's father before he passed away)
Zorki 4 - 100% working order, use it for when I feel like a change.
Zorki 5 - bought for lens, body not working, and very rough.
Praktica FX3 - bought the other day, seems to work, need to put a test roll through to check speeds are ok.


So yeah, that's my collection.

Still nothing on my father's though. He's currently at 35 Pentax film cameras, and I think 2 DSLR (K20D and K3, can't remember if he had something between the *istDS and the K20?)
He's also got a few brownies, folders, and similar.

Do Qs count, or K-01s? Two Q, a K-01, k-5 I and II - and an ME 'SE' film body that keeps the Ricoh XR10 company
If past bodies count, well I'd need an abacus and a good 20 minutes..
