Long water exposures

Trog,

This is one of the very best long exposure water pictures I have ever seen.
Beautiful.

the neat auto iso between certain levels u can set.. one less thing to worry about sort of thing.. or its supposed to be.. gets disabled if any plus or minus EV is set.. this causes the iso to default back to 200 and can catch u out..

a very neat feature kinda ruined so to speak.. it dosnt do it on the k10 but on the k100 it does.. instead of automatically of upping the ISO to compensate for the poor light the camera just lowered the shutter speed..

its cost me quite a few motion blurred shots in the past week.. without the shake reduction it would have cost me a lot more..

the auto ISO thing is a very neat feature pretty much totally ruined from where i see it.. i dont suppose it will be fixed with a firmware update else i think they would have fixed it by now..

scotland in the winter is a place of ever changing lighting conditions..

ps.. thanks mickey but handheld at 1/8 of second aint how u are supposed to do em.. he he he.. the effect was purely accidental.. some of the shots had motion blur on the land so were not acceptable but a few survived.. call that one a lucky accident.. he he

a couple more lucky accidents.. he he.. different frames same time same place..

the lighting was abysmal and it was raining.. but the river in flood looked (and sounded) too impressive not to have go at..

I think you are correct in your assumption. The same issue exists with the ist DS and DL, and they have not fixed it in those cameras either.

Very nice shot, by the way. I normally don't care for the motion blurred water effect. I think it is way over done, but here it is very effective and well executed.

Trog, I too am not a fan of the blurred water effect, but yours was done with control and tastefulness. I particularly like the middle shot for its composition. For a "lucky" shot it, again, shows restraint and control. Nice stuff. Freddy
