white balance

I remember seeing those very exspensive white balance filters costing like 50 £ but a thought occured to me why not use the camera body cap that comes with the body ? its white

is this a feasable idea or is my imagination going wild ?

On another thread I was reading yesterday, it has been tried, and works. Astonishingly simple, and the ultimate in low cost ($0.00).

Not bad...

... and very handy indeed- I personally use it all the time (especially when my bleached coffee filter gets too weared :-) Shooting RAW only but still it makes a sense...
Best and happy manual WB, JR
