Hi bobbotron,

As you can see (link below) with:
2 cactus v5 or V6 (as remote shutter) and 1 or more V6 as flash trigger, you can use HSS with the right delay (for my K3&70-200 => 94ms).
I try from 1/180 up to 1/8000 with same delay and no curtain shadow !
Thx again to ClassA for helping with cactus products.

Hope it help

Everyone: I've started some hacking on the FluCard, in case anyone here is interested. It's a Linux-based system, with ARM7 executables.

BTW, may I also suggest that any findings here are documented somewhere public, maybe at wikia.org? Digging thru this long thread has become quite difficult.

Oops, right. And it's even linked to in the first post. Meh, that's why I suck at this. I am not paying enough attention

It doesn't look like the Wiki hasn't been updated lately at all, though. My post was about asking all contributors to remember to add to such a wiki. Doesn't seem to happen. Or is this Shodan's private wiki?

Has anyone tried to read the Lens data from a K-3? Because I tried and it doesn't seem to work - choosing the "LENS ROM DAT CAMERA=>SD" command from the debug menu doesn't write a file, and the display only flickers very briefly when pressing the OK button. On the other hand, on my K-5, the same command works, with the screen blacking out for about a second during the operation.

I wonder if this feature has been disabled in the firmware or if it's just me. I'd like to know if others tried and had success with the K-3.

Totally, although that requires three cactus flashes. It would be nice if there was a "fire the flash regardless of flash sync speed ceiling" mode where it'd trigger your flash at higher speeds for compatibility with manual HSS flashes.

@All, sorry for the digression...
@bobbotron => Nope u don't need cactus flashes, i use that technique with 2xV5, 3xV6 (cactus triggers) and 1 Pentax 540 FGZ, 1 Metz AF 58 and 1 Metz AF 50 as flashes.

Right! I reread that link, I get it now. Still, wouldn't be awesome if you could override the built in speed limit, and trigger a HSS flash directly via a sync cable or something?

pasorro, my K-5 has an empty "DEVELOP.MOD" file and two files named "00077430.505" and "00077760.502", both with just "[OPEN_DEBUG_MENU]" inside. All files stored at the root of the SD card. I put that card into the K-5, leave the door open and turn the camera on. That opens the debug menu. No need for pktether.

It looks like you put the text into the wrong file.

K-S1 movie encoder/decoder chip identified. It is famous "ribery" chip from Fujitsu. Bitrates up to 64 MBps could be possible, but huge work must be done before.

Do we have an actual part number? I would like to see a datasheet on its specs.
