Preset or filter? photo effect

I have seen this effect on many photos and like it a lot for certain situations, but I am not sure how it was done: filter, photoshop preset? The really light hazy effect...

Probably easiest to control it in Post Processing. You can get a hazy, lower contrast look (lens flare) by having sun in the frame-- especially with older single coated or uncoated lenses.

Alas, with Pentax and their superior coating since the Super Takumars, it may be a bit tricky.

Looks like garden variety flare. Use a cheap filter and shoot into the sun. It is easy...been doing it for years.

Can be done with Lightroom.

That effect might work for one or two images, but more than that and it starts to really get annoying.

Agreed - too many and it looks more like you ruined the whole roll.
