I bought my K100D on 9/3/07, and sad to say, my shutter count is only 1595. I gotta get out more.

K10D, purchased May 07
I've rolled the counter twice, at 20,060+/-10 or so.

However, PhotoME says 7133, probably due to the warranty work performed by Pentax a couple of months ago.

K10D 7566 PHOTOS, 7748 SHUTTER ACTIVATIONS

*istD 8571 PHOTOS, 8686 SHUTTER ACTIVATIONS

PZ-1 plus KX plus XR2s ~20,000 photos
I need to revise this, both my *istD and K10D rolled over 10K on my trip to San Francisco last week.

I believe right now, I am sitting at 10300 on the *sitD and 10700 on the K10D.

Obviously, I have been a little busier with the cameras this year.

Pentax K10D, picked up at the store March 19 2008

Shutter count: 8310
About 56 pictures per day.

I need to set aside my camera once in a while. =)
Although when I was learning stuff about the camera I took alot more pictures than I do now.

Just about every exif reading program I tried didn't show the shutter count. I tried PhotoME that was suggested on the first page of this thread and it showed a heck of a lot more than the others, including shutter count about half way down the page.

My count

OK bought my GX10 in Feb, 2008 new, and I allready have 28752 shutter counts according to PhotoMe. At this rate I will hit the 100,000 life of the shutter sooner than I want. The camera was made in April 2007.

7 months x 4 = about two years of camera life, but 4 years of warranty Still I need to slow down.

Before it smashed to bits.

Bought K100D on 9/2/06, it was smashed on 7/23/08

28,632 shots.

Not bad for an entry level DSLR.

I bought my first K10D on August 2006 and it had about 6000 actuations before I replaced it with a new body. The new body is now reaching 10,000 and I wonder what actually happens to the image file names as it reaches that count?

I mean that when my last picture is named IMGP9999.DNG will it grow to IMGP100000.DNG or does it have to follow the FAT rules to have only 8 characters and start over from IMGP0001.DNG? That would be a pain!
