highest capacity SD card?

so what would be the maximum capacity SD card that I can use with my camera? I presently use 32GB cards....would I be able to use a 64GB with my K-5 or K-7?

Yes, you can use 64 gb cards on your K5. I do in mine. You can even use larger, btu I wouldn't recommend it due to expense and how much it would suck if the card malfunctioned while full of pictures.

I don't think that would be a problem, but I find 32 is plenty, and when you get into higher capacity cards I tend to forget what I've backup etc...

There was a firmware update to the K-7 a while back to allow it to use the SDXC cards, so I think you can even use the 256GB cards. I've used the Lexar Platinum II 64GB card in my K-7.

... until the day, when that huge 128gb card crashes due to non-recoverable data issues. I loose all my pictures of the wedding shoot.

Smaller cards also have a reason to be kept.

You can already do that quite badly with 32GB... well over 900 photos when shooting RAW only (as I do). A full 32GB card would be a huge loss...

I try to stick with 16gb cards for my K5 for normal shooting.
