Seems we have a wide sample variance here.

If you use a sync cord with studio flashes, you can sync at 1/180. The issue is when using the radio slaves.
Read carefully my posts... I did use a sync cord when I performed the test and plugged in the sync plug of the camera... and couldn'T sync at more than 1/125s... Exact same strobes and sync cord on a D200 got 1/250s...

And this is an issue with the K20D... not the K10D, my previous K10D performed very well at 1/180s.

Just a recap...

K20D:

Wireless trigger : 1/100s
Sync Cord (camera body plug) : 1/125s

D200:

Wireless trigger : 1/250s
Sync Cord : 1/250s

This test was performed with the exact same strobes, exact same sync cable and exact same wireless trigger.

Before, I never had issues with the K10D the sync speed was 1/180s and on the *ist DS 1/160s

1/100s isn't such a big deal, but when you try to add some movement, then it can become an issue...

The thing here is that some people are reporting the same problem with the K10D...so could this be the result of a bad combination of camera/strobes/triggers and not the camera itself? I find it hard to believe that Pentax is announcing a value that ends up not being true. And as someone said, the shutter in both cameras seem to be the same.

Well I did some more tests at my local camera store and we found out something even more disturbing with my camera, we did the test with a diffrent K20D and there was no problems with it. My shutter doesn't always have the same speed.

With the exact same settings (i.e. f9.0 1/100s) and same lighting setup... well I doN't get the same exposures, some are darker, wayyyyyy darker, lighter.... out of 10 shots 6 were "normal" and 4 were all over the place. The camera was set in manual mode...

3 Pentax cameras in 5 years... 3 strikes they're out! I just lost any little confidence I had in their products
