Hi,

I have noticed this now a second time....

The first time was a few weeks ago when I went to a carnival to shoot pictures, the camera would not shut off... only when I would take the battery out but when I would put it back in and the power switch was in off the camera would still be on.....

After awhile the problem went away so I thought it was just a fluke.....

Now last night I left my camera on or in standby for more than a few hours and the same thing is happening...

The only way to bring down the power of the camera is to completely take out the battery, when I put it back in after several minutes same problem the camera turns back on even when the switch is set to off...

Is this a camera flaw? A fluke? Has anyone else experienced such an error?

Anyone know what to do about it?

That has never happened to me and I've never seen anything about a similar problem on any of the forums I visit so I would say it's a rare defect.

I would do a reset of the camera which often 'fixes' these odd issues and then leave the batteries out overnight. Then set the camera up as you would normally and use it. How much warranty is left? If the time is short, maybe it should go in for a look. If not or it's beyond warranty, I'd keep an eye on it, use it lots and see if it happens again after the reset.
