Noise while "live view" is activated

Hi,

I have a k20d camera. The camera performs well, but when I switch to "live view" mode some strange noise is coming from camera. Is it normal? Why it happens?

just to get things straight you mean audible noise right ? not image noise, can you describe the noise ?

Hi Ivo, this is "people at work" noise

Do a 30s exposure and you'll hear the same people work again (they try to hold the sensor into position so the image won't blur aka shake reduction

).

If you disable shake reduction the only noise that should remain is a high-pitched whine. What you're hearing otherwise is the SR mechanism "clunking" the sensor around to accommodate for your shaky hands
