Custom Image (setting - question) ?

I was playing with my k-r's menu options for quite a while because our power went out. Now I see a "Custom Image" icon to the left of "AF.C"

I don't know if this use to be there or not. Anyways, I did a reset of the camera and it's still there. What's the default suppose to be, is custom image suppose to be set to "Natural." Is a custom image icon even suppose to show up all the time ?

When shooting in JPEG mode, the custom image settings determine the color tones in the image. Play around with the settings a bit until the colors are to your liking. Here are a few examples:

I set it to "natural."
I am curious what the default setting is or should that little icon even show up by default.

Update: I see the default setting is "bright."

Yup, but remember that's just a preset. You can fine-tune parameters such as the saturation, hue, sharpness, and contrast yourself.

Right, default in the Kr is "bright"... I reset mine to "natural", as I found the "bright" setting a little too hot, some colors were oversaturated. But as Adam noted, you can tweak a lot of parameters to get what you want.
