A few months ago I expressed surprise when Ricoh released the WG-4. After which many folks pointed out cameras like the D4, GH4, etc.

So, Ricoh could most certainly release a K-4.

I'd also rule out the K-9, as who wants a dog of a camera
How about Hektor and Summarex? Is Leica the only company that can use dog names?

How about K* 2014, K+ 2014, and K2014?
The K represents the mount, of course.
The year differentiates between models of the same line (that's how Apple does it with their laptop and desktop computers).
They've settled into a low-medium-high or entry-enthusiast-pro system, so using the already established star to show the pro model, and adding a plus to indicate that the mid-range model is superior to the entry model with no plus might be a nice way of differentiating.

There was also the Canon G4.

Right, and the Olympus OM-4, etc. You do raise a fair point, that regardless of whether the camera is current production or not, cultural tetraphobia predates the existence all of these cameras.

They have a range of choices in alphabetical - like the K-FC (K mount Full frame Camera with 11 secret innovations.) Or the K-GB in black only (with an extra setting on the mode dial - available to government agencies only - to fire a poison dart when the shutter button is pressed). But not the rumoured full frame K-PI because they are still struggling with that particular performance indicator.

I didn't forget it. I was just trying not to be too politically incorrect!

Yeah, the K-9 and K-O will go well with Olympus OM-G.
Don't forget the K-Y...

In the same general way of thinking there might be a Nikon D-0A.

That one will likely come with a vibrate mode...

Probably the next models will be aK-m and aK-47. Who knows how they'll name them.

K-EK is another option.
That has some currency around the web. Also see 'top kek'.

K-POW the camera that packs a real punch or the higher spec K-O which is a knockout

K-Mart for those who want a lower end model

KC (without the sunshine band) - a model without a built in flash

K-g - heavyweight model

K-Hz for high frequency burst shooting
