Putting a kit together

It's been a while since I last posted here.
My Samsung GX-10 has 90,000+ actuations on it now and I don't know how much longer it will last so i'm retiring it and going for a new kit.

I just picked up a used K-x this week for peanuts to tide me over until I could afford a new setup. Luckily, i've managed to sell some of my other gear and will be getting the new body sooner than I thought.

Obviously, my current gear will stay for now and will be supplemented by some new lenses.

This is what I have decided on and am waiting on right now.

Pentax K-30
Pentax 16-45
Pentax 55-300
Pentax 50 / 1.8
Pentax 35 /2.4

I already have the following kit:

Sigma 10-20
Zenitar 16mm Fisheye
Cosina 20 / 3.8
Pentax 40 / 2.8 Limited
Pentax A 28 / 2.8
Pentax A 50 / 1.4
Pentax M 85 / 2.0
Pentax M 100
Pentax M 135 / 2.8
Kiron 105 / 2.8
Sigma 50-500 'Bigma'

Samsung SEF36PZF Flash
Canon 430EZ Speedlight
Vivitar 283 Flash
Yongnuo 602 Triggers

As you can imagine i'm pretty stoked at getting a new setup. I can't wait to get out and shoot some stuff.

This is the sort of stuff that I shoot these days.

Nice, I would go for the WR version of the 55-300 though.

True true, I got some of my best shots out in rainy/snowy weather with my DA*300.

I would have loved the WR version but the price I got on the standard version was too good to pass up. I can live without the WR, as i've never had it before and doubt if i'll miss it all that much.

To all different, your kit looks good even without the WR

As with the others, I don't see too many holes in your kit.

If you are lacking in one spot - assuming more length and speed is an occasional need (I shoot a lot of concerts) - you might want to consider the Samyang/ Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 - or one of the Pentax 70/77/85s if you're willing to spend more.

That said, for concerts, the K-30 is pretty loud. I tend to shoot them with a K-01 and screen loupe - a very good set up.

I hope to be able to add an AF 85mm at some point in the future. Right now I have an SMC-M 85/2, SMC-M 100/2.8 and a Kiron 105/2.8 (the legendary MF Macro) that cover that range so i'll stick with those for now.

Got all my kit today. Gotta say what an amazing camera the K30 is. I'm certainly gonna enjoy shooting with this one. Shame about it not having a battery grip though.
