Need *istD Flash Recomendation

I'm needing some advice for an inexpensive flash for an *istD. I made a deal with my 11yr old son that if he showed me the card from his scoutmaster that he was going to start working on his photography merit badge that I would give him the pawn shop special that I picked up and got working along with a few lenses. Well he called me this week and said pack it up as he now has the card. Now I need to find a flash since the built in one isn't working. I'm looking for something cheap and that he can use in green mode until he learns more about how to setup the different modes and how exposures work.

He got the chance to use this camera over vacation with a FA 35-80 and HQ Optics 70-210mm Macro manual focus lens and he really enjoyed it. He has also got a Haminex 135mm f2.8 prime to use once he learns about apertures and shutter speeds. I was surprised at how well some of his pictures came out.

Get an af500ftz. It is TTL not PTTL but the istD can do both. It makes a great flash and they are relatively cheap

I have a Pentax AF160Sa you can have for the price of shipping. It came with a Craigslist purchase I made. This is a small flash that is probably a small step up from the built in mode.

It has the sensor on the front so it will adjust the flash output. The manual can be found here --> Download Instructions Manuals: Pentax AF160Sa Flashes

Here is a forum thread with good information on using this flash.

AF200-FG.
You can pick one up for about $40. Small, light weight, good battery life. A few adjustments on the flash body.
