I'd rather not... GF is already in charge of the audio, though (and last time did a swell job!)

You'd have to qualify that with 'on purpose' given the position of the button on K5 family. I get the same stupid feeling when that pops out like when I turn on the wipers when turning in my wife's car (levers are opposite).

K3 - never tried it. Does it exist? Only had the camera four days.
K5 - tested it for five seconds the first day I had it.
K20 - never tried it. Does it exist?
K10 - never tried it. Does it exist?

This sounds like a 'Schrodinger's cat' type question!

...must buy a sling strap and attach it to the tripod plate...
And, just like cxdoo, the other strap anchor is right next to the pop-up flash/DELETE PICTURE button... :-|

Hm. With the stock neck strap I don't trigger anything by accident.

Removing the flash... I don't think I would miss it too much. I rarely use it, and it takes space and money to integrate it...

I think it is interesting to think why I would use video.

I first encountered photography as a matter of stills. So I think in terms of single images which might be linked in display to form some kind of arrangement, including a story.

Movies are a wonder art form when done by people with the resources to edit it all to make a good story, and the skill necessary. But I am not interested in that and know I do not want to make videos which I would inflict on others to their distraction.

But something I did like with a little P&S was video which I sometimes used to capture 'technical' videos which I used in lectures etc to show how things work. But the short snippets of video completely relieved me of needing to make a coherent story - the point was in a single short segment. That is much more like a 'moving picture'. So having video as a secondary function is reasonable for that kind of work and technical limitations are there to be worked around. A full power video camera is needed if one wants to make movies, or something with a good story to it.

haven't used it yet on my K5II... I strongly believe that a good picture worth more than a video

I used 2-3 times video mode in holidays, I would not feel his absence if not implemented. I am surprised by the complaints of some that we do not have 4K or 8K.
