I dont do video, but I have used video once or twice, but only for some funny family type events. Nothing too special. And for that, the Pentax DSLR video features were enough
I may be wrong in this, but I don't think either of those are the reasons there are so many people in this thread saying "never" or "accidentally". The title of the thread pretty much invites people who don't use video to chime in. If the thread were titled "Who here uses video mode" you'd probably get more responses from people who do. However, if we were to do an actual survey, I think we'd still find in Pentax land more "stills only" shooters than "I need video" users.
As for myself, I'm definitely primarily a stills shooter, but have used K-5, K-30 and K-5iis to do a short documentary on a minority people in China, a couple of advert-like vignettes for conferences as well as numerous interviews. In terms of video features, Pentax is nowhere close to cutting edge, but the actual video quality of the K-5's is quite good..... the K-30 on the other hand has better video features and poor quality.
