I don't use it as much but I am happy to see the VIDEO option is there. It will be good if Pentax makes it better too.

Yes, I accidentally flip the switch too. I prefer to tape it so it won't move rather than seeing it disappear.
What annoying more for me is the lock switch on the shooting mode wheel. I prefer the K5 ways which always locked until pushing the button in the middle. I tape that part on my K3 as well.
Some people find it is useful, so I think... keep it for people need to use it, and I can tap it.

I wanted video just once on the K-1 couldn't find the switch so after 5 minutes I gave up. Less than a week later it bumped onto video - then I did have to find the button!
What truly worries me about the complaints of poor video is that the developers may compromise the stills ability of the cameras to achieve better video. I would hate to lose iso invariance in future cameras for example.

I've done it 3 times just for documentation purposes. Why? I had no choice because there was no other camera during that time. Reading through all your posts, I think it is a crime to use a Pentax camera on video mode. The Pentax Jedi never uses his Pentax camera in video mode. That's why it's called a DSLR because it's suppose to take pictures not video.

I shot exactly one video on the K-5 and none on the K-1II.

I have never used the video function of my K-1, KP, K 200, or my GR III. Any video I shoot is with a Panasonic 3CDD video camera for my day job and my iPhone for everything else. Obviously the video capabilities of a digital SLR are not important to me!

I've used it 3 times. All for a very short time (less than a minute) before deciding to go back to stills because I don't like making video.

I think all DSLR videos are limited in length anyway, so most SD cards will probably do the trick. I use 64GB cards.
