To Everyone:
One of the best things about my purchase of the K20d is it lead me to this excellent forum. There is a high quality of communication going on here. There is also a warm comradery which I have not sensed on other boards.
My jump from an S3 Canon to the K20d has been, as some of you have suggested, a difficult one. I apologize for sounding like I was fed up with the camera; I did not mean to merely vent here.
Anyway, there is so much excellent advice here that I have read it over several times; I have benefited immensely from this---Again, thank you!
Peacekeeper: I like your idea of metering in M mode with the Ev meter, but for some reason the meter is shut off on my K20. I can only get it to turn on if I push and hold the button in. Is it possible to turn it on somehow?
Monochrome--your advice is particularly inspiring!
Jbinpg: I am looking forward to trying out your technique for getting better exposures.
I could go on and on--but I think you all get the message. Thanks for taking the time to bring me up a level. I look forward to contributing to this board in a positive manner--soon.
Best Regards,
Ernest
