This is the reason I went with Pentax digital.

I needed no further persuasion.

mY first buy

Just starting out, i needed to buy a dslr so i went to kits camera near by, before hand i aready recon the cameras i had qusetion about like pentax, nikon, canon, olympus, i only had a grand with me to fit my affordabilty, i wanted the nikon d80 at first, but needed a weather poof camera living in washington it a plus, having only a grand to spend, i was limited. so looking and trying and breaking down to two selection it came down to the K10D and the D80, the D80 had a special offer $1000.00 with body and two lens, man that a good deal...The K10D was at $800 just the kit. never guess what i did. yes i got the K10D kit + Batterie grip now to me thats a greater deal. so i saved up more money worked over time like crazy and spent 7g's for one more K10D kit and K20's and Lens..

My Pentax is like my mountain bike. Neither of them are the best things you could possibly buy out there, but both feel very good to use (which means I actually use them).

SR/lens compt/weather seals...they are all bonuses to me.

I have no reason to switch to Canon or Nikon and actually find pleasure in finding other Pentax users in the field...as they tend to be a more "educated" bunch.

Sincerely,
Dedicated Pentax User

Totaly agree here...
It's just shame that here in London you don't get to see many Pentaxians. I'd say we are as rare as native british red squirels...

Thanks, Axl; it's a Pentax 6x7.

If you look closely on the right side of the camera (left side of the picture) you can see part of the numerals.

I'll have to take another shot so the numerals are seen more clearly.

The pictures this camera puts out have to be seen to be believed.

This camera also has the nicest viewfinder I've ever looked through.

I choose K10D as my first DSLR because its SR, weather proof body, great lens and price. I don't see any other system can give me all of those at this price.
