My soul broke in the same way as soon as I saw that pic. Feel four you and I think it's impossible to even get the parts for it to do a repair at home.

I guess I just have to appreciate the view from a broken viewfinder from now on.

Just out of curiosity, so that I wont make the same mistake (the picture indeed horrifying for any camera guy), how did you break it?

I think it would have to be professionally fixed if for no other reason that there's probably glass rattling around the innards of the camera now.

I saw the pentax viewfinder lens selling somewhere a few years ago. search on line and you might be able to find something. If I understand correctly, it should be an easy fix and you might be able to get it done at home, if you have open a lens or a camera before.
replacing it at official repair store should not cost too much, if nothing else is damaged.
BTW, precision camera is very bad in getting things done quickly and replying emails. My camera is there for > 3 months. Hope it will get smoother after first few months.

thanks for the response. I am an offroader and one day and forgot to secure my camera inside the cargo hold and it drop bounced one meter up and down to the metal flatbed. The impact must have damaged the camera. It still work, but SR seems a bit wacky now.

Perhaps it wouldn't have bounced that high if the shake reduction was turned on?
