I've had my k20 for about 6 ish years. Broke my favorite lens and stopped using it for a year or so. Recently had the lens repaired and back at it. I'm really struggling with getting the exposure correct when the lighting isn't perfect. I'm getting under exposed images and then all the detail/sharpness is gone from the image.

I have a Tamron 70-200 fast zoom lens that is awesome at 70-150mm Fully zoomed at 200 it's less than desirable unless the stars align and exposure is perfect.

Eventually i'll upgrade to the K3.

P.J.L.

Hi,
I've recently purchased a K20D to use with a Sigma 100-300 zoom lens. I find that when taking shots of small birds 300mm is a bit short, so I've purchased a Tokina 80-400mm zoom lens to use on the K20D. Has anyone used this combination? I haven't received it yet, not sure what to expect. My intention is to take pictures of birds and wildlife.
Cheers,
P.J.L.

The Tokina 80-400 is a good lens but does get 'less good' at the long end. I had one but the internal focusing zoom ring broke and was not able to be fixed at a reasonable price - sold for parts. I used it with the K20. It made for a large heavy package. Would like to get a replacement copy of the Tokina sometime but they are quite rare.

I used the Sigma 100-300 f4 with a Sigma 1.4x TC that was beautifully sharp.

Been spending more time focusing on the histogram.... Trying to nail exposure. I think my biggest issue in the past on lack of clarity/detail was under exposing. Really happy with this 9 pic Pano taken yesterday.

Also - anyone have any experience with Takumar lens on your K20?

There are a number of K20D shots on the Takumar lens club thread. What is your specific question?

Curious how many of us fellow K20d peeps manually adjust your kelvin? Any preferences for cool natural lit sky shots? Do you adjust shot by shot? Or have a setting you leave it on for that particular day/shoot ?
