Thank you, I actually ended up buying the K-3 from adorama:
Pentax K-3 Digital SLR Camera Body Bundle with 50 f1.8 Lens and Battery Grip 15530 KB
I think it is worth the extra money to get a camera that I can rely on for a while!

You are going to like the 50/1.8. It is a very fun lens and a great performer too.
