Camera Shutter Life Expectancy Database

I just literately stumbled across this. I don't know anything about sample/population size (vs total production run) or collection technique (data quality). It appears folks just send in their data. Just thinking out load now, but this might be an interesting set of statistics to have on the forum. Then again, its not something that has really been an issue. It is an interesting walk / comparison through in terms of the various brands and models.

This would be very useful when you are thinking about buying used body, and its residual life expectancy (well in terms of the shutter). There is a more complete set of camera models here...

Interesting site.
We (they?) should maybe start adding up the K5 series ... K5, K5II, K5IIs

I found the complete list and added it to the post. On second thought, there is no need to replicate the work, we just need to add to it in terms of the models not tracked (as of yet).

So, if you found the complete listing and added to it, where is that to be found now?
Or maybe I am misunderstanding your post ?
Thanks!

Sorry - I added it to the original post. I guess I should just have included it in the subsequent post. For some reason the Pentax list ends with the K20. We should probably get the K5, K5II, K5IIs, K-01, K500, K30, K50 and the K3 added.

I forgot about the D-s1 for some reason.

I still don't get it:
This more complete list does not have Pentax cameras beyond the K7/Kx ... I suppose the only way to get the latest cameras would be to connect directly to the webmaster of this site and submit other cameras for their database?
Cheers!

I think you have to get a model started by emailing the info on one that died then it becomes automatic. none of my Pentax's have died (sold the ds K10 stolen K7 just fine)
