K100D dust in LCD

I just bought a used K100D Super and everything seems to be working fine but in the lower corners of the LCD screen there's lots of dust or something, and it's pretty distracting when I'm looking at night pictures or anything dark. The dust or specs are only on the screen and not in the pictures or the viewfinder, and can best be seen when the camera is off and black. Is the clear plastic replaceable and and would you ever try this yourself?

I've heard that this dust comes from in-body space

Get it cleaned at Pentax?

I strongly advise against opening it up yourself.

yea. i'm discovering this on my 4 month old k10d too. my plan is to send it in and get it fixed. it doesn't look good when i'm telling my friends that this camera is weather sealed while there is a bunch of dust in the lcd.

Code named Weather Sealing 2.0 (WS2), the dust there is to provide a much firmer and tighter seal. jk

Internal dust can very well be generated by the wear and tear of all the mechanical parts moving about at blinding speeds inside the camera.

Even a 1D Mark II N gets dust inside the body once in a while.
