I went out yesterday in the cold (35 degrees) in New York City to test out my K-5IIs.Initial thoughts the battery is awesome, my Canon 50D would have froze at least twice in yesterdays weather. I'm not fond of the Pentax 50-200mm lens, since I'm coming from using a Sigma 17-70mm lens for my Canon so I will be looking at another Sigma 17-70 art or another Sigma lens. But so far I'm happy with the results although I'll need to work on my skateboarding shots.

I am getting another $17.00 as the price dropped again.
With all this money which lens should I buy or should I get another nose ring. Hah
Seriously though, I have been looking at a 70-300. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ahhh, those images!
I can't wait to give the K-5IIs I ordered a test run, I'll be getting it Wednesday. I decided to get one over a second K-3 body after the scare I had at school two weeks ago. Where I thought I broke my K-3. Turned out to be a user sync error. So I've experienced the need for a second body firsthand, just shortly after giving a friend my K30. Now I seriously don't think I'll ever be a one body man again.

...and yes! Go for the lens! But also keep in mind that the DA 55-300 variants are other good options for that focal range.

If you are inquiring about the 70-300 Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG Macro - Telephoto Zoom Lenses - SigmaPhoto.com, I had one on my K5. It had a tough time focusing at 300 and was quite soft at 300 also. I sold it. I LOVE my 17-70.

Colors K5iis produces are so vivid. Perhaps, it's because there is no AA filter.

You'd love the Sigma 17-70mm on a K5 lls. Mine practically lives on mine.

Hi Rimfiredude, I notice this one in the reviews here. It appears to be a better lens. Any thoughts?

Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS

Just notice that you are In PA. I'll be in Philly(Chestnut Hill) in 2 weeks and staying for about 3 weeks. PM me if you are close.

Someone asked me about the high ISO capabilities of the K-5lls. So here.

Opps. Can't find how to add. See next post.

A couple at ISO 51200 of my TV screen. Not a lot of light in the room. Lens is my 28-200 Tamron LD.
