Pentax DSLR users age....

Im wondering about the ages of the people that use Pentax, this is because i see a lot of older guys that since the 60s 70s stick with the brand, and switch to digital in part because they had all the legacy lenses, but dont know if is just me or what but i think that we dont have that many "young" photographers.. like people younger than 25 +/- .. or perhaps we do... so here we go...

What is your age??

This has been done a few times - majority I think falls in the older segment.

There probably are more people (like me) in the upper age range but I suspect something similar may exist with all of the DSLR brands. Certainly many younger people do have DSLRS but the size and cost of the equipment together with the extra time needed to acquire skill would tend to make active users of advanced equipment more likely to be toward the older part of any user group, regardless of which brand they use.

I'm 59. I first used a Pentax SLR (Spottie) in 1970, received a KX and K50/1.4 as a gift in 1977 and bought an MESuper and M50/1.4 in 1984. Ran through a long series of P&S cameras but continued using the KX and MESuper until I got the K10D in 2007.

Funny - I read the tread title as a sentence: "Pentax users age". Well, I thought, everybody does, my DA*300 does keep me young, but not forever.... Then I got it!

I am 42, and I did know the brand from the film days, but most of my film cameras were Olympus. I chose Pentax for build quality and in house stabilisation, mostly.

Anyway, with the sweets collection KS1 the Pentax demographics might change radically - watch out for the sudden influx of teenage girls!

I recall the older segment being a plurality rather than a majority.

I can't wait to see full size DSLRs mounted on these tiny selfie sticks

It's horrible in Asia - went to the Singapore Aquarium with a friend, could at times not see the fishes because the windows were covered by people looking in the opposite direction of the fishes, into their phones mounted on selfie sticks

Btw, if this poll'd be a histogram, the highlights would be seriously blown out - way too many old people for a proper exposure

looking at the age range, does it mean we are an endangered species?
