Help! Something is wrong with DSLR

I have been experiencing some issues with my K110d over the last month or more. The camera was purchased in March of 2007 and has been very good to me. Certainly not old enough to be showing issues...at least in my mind.

In green mode, Av, and Tv it is overexposing all shots by like 2 stops. Everything is blown out. The only way I can get propery exposed pictures is in manual mode. I have reset the camera to factory settings and that has done nothing to help the problem.

Wondering if you all could be of some assistance. Here are some photos of what I am talking about.

This was taken in Auto mode

same shot in manual

Another blown out shot in Auto

Please...someone help me.

What is your metering mode? I suspect it's just variation due to scene/pattern metering.

the first thing popping in my mind is that you are spot metering the wrog spot... but then again, even in manual mode you'd be tricked to have the same overexposure...

just please confirm which metering u used on these.

yes, make sure you didn't bump up the exposure compensation and forgot to bring it back down.

And for future reference, if you post photos with intact EXIF data, we could look at it and say, "Oh, look, it was set to EV+2," etc.

On a similar note, I'm using the FxIF extension in Firefox and loving it.

what is it? I guess some plugin for firefox. Does it show exif while viewing pics online? Is there anything similar for Internet Explorer 7?
I know it's too many questions, but I got bit excited about it

With FxIF installed, you right-click any image and go to Properties. Alongside the standard info (location, dimensions, ...) you get all the major EXIF stuff.

I don't think they make Internet Explorer 7 for Linux. And IE will never have the extendable capabilities Firefox has. Firefox is not perfect, but it's definitely the browser for me.
