K10D Custom Settings... Your Settings

Hi,

I tried doing a search and didn't see if anyone has done this yet.

I think it would be interesting to see what people have setup in their Custom Settings (and why would be nice)

Here are mine:

Program Line - Hi Speed

Sensitivity - As EV Steps
ISO Warning - 1600
Meter Operating Time - 10 Sec
AE-L with AF Locked - ON
Link AF Point and AE - ON
Auto Bracket Order - - 0 +
Auto EV Comp - ON
WB when using Flash - Flash
Fine Tune when AWB - Enabled
AF Button Function - Centre of AF
AF half way - ON
Superimpose AF - ON
AF in remote - ON
Noise Reduction - ON
Colour Space - sRGB
Colour Temp - Kelvin
e-dial in Program - 1
e-dial in Sv - 1
e-dial in Tv - 1
e-dial in Av -1
Green Button in TAv &M - 1
One Tough Raw + JPG - Continue
Illuminate LCD - ON
Release when Charging - ON
Preview - Digital
Recordable Image No - 1
Intial Zoom - 2 times
Auto Image Rotation - ON
Saving Rotation - ON
Using Ap Ring - Prohibited
Flash in Wireless - ON

Well that's what I have..... any suggestions for other settings?

D.

(maybe this could be a sticky if it becomes a popular thread)

I use different settings, depending on what I am doing. I often default the program line to MTF when using the 16-50 or 12-24. I want every scrap of detail I can lay my hands on!

I will switch things up to the high speed program to use the 50-135, except when I need to set the shutter speed up, when I will use Av mode (YES, Av) to obtain the maximum shutter speed available with the light at the subject.

[rant]When I am out shooting birds, then It is of no use, I switch to M on the mode dial. My 400/5.6 does not do auto exposure on the K10D. It is supposed to do Av, wide open only, but it doesn't. It is highly over exposed. So, I therefor use M at all times with the M lenses. [/rant]

I basically set a USER setting for the day for whatever I am going to do.

Great feedback CR.

Will MTF work on my Sigma lenses? I understood it to work with only Pentax lenses.

It seems to work with my Sigma lenses. It seems like trying to always go more or less toward the same opening, so I guess it means it work.

Thanks for the tip! I have switched to that mode and I am really pleased with the results.

Any other comments on the other settings?

D.
