Viewfinder hair

Today I find a short "hair or other similar substance in My K200's viewfinder. It does not show in photos . if I shake it camera it moves. is there any way to get it out of there? Does it need to go to a shop?
I cannot see it looking into the lens opening. Thank You .

It will be behind the focusing screen. You see it in the viewfinder but it does not show in the image. You can try blowing it out with a rocket blower with the lens removed. But use caution, and do not touch anything in the camera with the tip of the blower. Compressed air is generally not a good idea, the rocket blower is safer.

You can take out the focusing screen on many cameras, not sure about the k200, to clean. But that operation is delicate and the screen can become scratched very easily so either use caution or have it done at a shop.

I've had one in my ME Super going on 35 years. I just got used to it. It doesn't interfere with the operation of the camera so it wasn't worth the expense or effort to get it out of there to me.

Thanks for the comments. I think I have the same problem on my K-30. I tried blowing it out but to no avail. Good to know others have found it not worth fixing given no impact on images.

When I look in the viewfinder of my SP 1000, there is a tick. He's been there since the late 70's and is probably petrified by now. I could never get it out. Interchangeable lens cameras are going to get dust, bugs, hair and other stuff inside them and the older they are, the more likely it will be for it to happen. Dust, bugs, and hair will cause problems on the sensor but are only an annoyance on the viewfinder. While dust spots are fairly easy to remove in PP, a hair on the sensor will result in a rather time consuming session in PP so I try to get hairs out of my camera.

It may be possible to release the latch holding the focusing screen to let it swing down.
Then a gentle puff with a rocket blower could dislodge the hair.
Then just latch it back up.
As long as you don't touch it or try to remove it you won't damage the screen.

Whenever I get dust or hair in my viewfinder, I send my camera to my friend to get it cleaned out. He's very efficient.
