Just opened my new K50

I have had a Pentax camera in some form since my high school photography club. That was a lot of years and cameras ago. I fell away from the photography bug for awhile but it is something my wife and I do together now that the kids are gone. Received a K10 a few years back and love it still. This K50 is an upgrade I wasnt planning on but is a wonderful gift from the family. Cant wait to start using it. Waiting for the battery to charge and to get through the manual. I will say that my K10 is going no where I still love using it. Merry Christmas to all. Enjoy your family time and the extra chances for photographs.

Welcome, hang on to that k10d, lots of folks here still love them. But I think the k-50 will impress you.

Have FUN!!! I upgraded from a K200D to a K-3 early last summer. Love the K-3 but my K200D still gets used. It's nice not having to always change lenses at the races. The 55-300 stays on the K-3 and the 18-55 stays on the K200D for pit duty.

Enjoy. The 16.3Mpixel sensor is a gem. You should keep the K-10 if you can as it makes a great second body, and I have been using my K-200 (same sensor as K-10) to great effect as a general backup to K-5, as hiking body when roughing it, but most useful as a short FL second body with a preferred wider-angle hooked up. The IQ in good light is still very good for most uses.

Enjoy it, this is wonderful camera. My friend bought one recently and he was using my lenses, really impressive piece of equipment.
Cheers
