Never understood why camera companies don't make their rebates worldwide, sorry FTP.

Hi Barry

Re your statement:

Because the breakdown of sales figures clearly reveal that the largest percentage of their products are sold to US consumers and evidently they have no scruples whatsoever about screwing excessive profit-margins from their remaining customers in other market sectors, such as Europe & elsewhere ! C'est la vie, mon amis !!!

Best regards

Rebate Good For Other Pentax Goodies Too

The form has rebates for the Pentax flash, battery grip and other lenses too. Yes, the kit is included in the rebate form.

Note to "confused" I would write Pentax directly why they don't offer you guys a rebate, I would love to hear THEIR reason why they don't offer it.

I got the k200d body for $661.00 With the rebate I'll get, it's over $200 cheaper than the Fuji s100fs I was planning to get. Quality on this cam is a much much better and I can change lenses...also AA battery useage was the deal breaker also.

Forgive the mild cynicism, but plenty of others have penned missives to them on numerous occasions about this sensitive subject and simply received the usual evasive bull-s**t, wrapped up in polite management-speak ! Incidentally, if you'd care to donate your generous rebate to me in order that I can share it out equitably between the rest of us long-suffering Europeans, my secret Swiss bank-account number is: *<%”€!$!@^/#+£>?

Best regards
Richard

Re-Reading The Form

Hmmm, I see nothing on the form where it says when the camera has to be purchased, it only mentions the time the rebate runs from (May 22 through July 26 2008) I'm mailing in my form anyways)

From the form
"All products must be purchased at the same time on the same receipt to receive the full rebate"

I think I'm covered but if you bought the body, lens, flash etc at different times, your only allowed one rebate. That's the way I interpret it, I could be wrong.

Hi,
This rebate may be in response to Canon's rebate. Canon has one going
in Canada and started a different, US only, rebate on May 18, thru July 19.
They have several bodies and flashes, plus many lenses included.

After much research I think I've decided on the k200d over the Canon xsi. Is Amazon the best place to buy the k200d for $662.03?

Amazon.com: Pentax K200D 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens: Electronics

I'm a total newbie to anything above a point and shoot. Would it probably be best to buy the kit or body plus lenses separately? Is there anything else I'm going to find I can't live without and should get now? Thanks for any help you can provide!
