Just received my 50 and loving it.
Attached are three shots: Mug shot auto, no flash @f5 Christmas tree auto, flash @f2.8 Bugle auto, no flash @f2.5
Any comments welcome. I'm so pleased with this lens . Can't wait till spring when I can shoot some flowers in the sunlight.
I was intrigued at the fstops the camera selected. Freddy

Congrats! It's a great little lens; very nice colour and contrast, and very sharp! And you can't complain about the price

Nice work Freddy. As I've said elsewhere, this is the 50mm lens for me. Works on my film cameras too. Not a bad deal for the price.

Great stuff Freddy! That lens is a no brainer, pro quality stuff in a plastic case. It's a great lens, no doubt. If I didn't have tons of 50s already...

Also, great to hear from you again! You were gone for a while. Cheers!

Hey Freddy!

I received the 50/1.8 in a recently purchased K-3 package from Adorama. I was fully prepared to list the lens as soon as I received it and put the money towards the DA* 55/1.4, but I was so blown away by the picture quality that I'll probably keep it forever!

Some will dig on it for the somewhat loud screwdrive AF, but it hasn't bothered me.

Yup. I love mine too. It would be nice if Pentax had printed a distance scale onto the lens, and maybe one of those DoF preview things, but optically it is great and nice to use. The price could be a bit lower though, I mean the competing Canon product is like half as expensive, and it too is a good lens.

I'm about to buy one. Outfit in Canada has them new on Ebay for $119. One of the better values I've seen. Good for low light and portraits. Little worried about plastic parts but at that price and value, I'll deal with it.

Mine still looks great, like new, after a year or two...

119 canadian dollars? Wow! So much lens for so little money. Will work on the full frame, too!
