K100D super review

here is a good review:

YouTube - Pentax K100D camera review by What Digital Camera magazine

Well at least I didnt buy a rubbish cam!
But now I have bought it @ 280 from my local argos... & days later they drop the price to 250!
AAAAHH!

oh and jessops are selling the tameron 70-300 for 199.99
but the kodak shop in my high street just 300 meters from jessops sell the same lens at only 89!

Well guess where I bought mine from?!

what do you K100D owners think of your cam then?

I love it. I have a non-super K100D. But in my eyes, it's still quite Super in its own right.

I have 2x K100D in non super version, is there anything I wish for? Yes. Bigger buffer, brighter viewfinder, and 2 dials. But that's it. Is there anything I'm satisfied with? A lot. 6mpx is enough, picture quality is amazing, lens compatibilty is great, high ISO fantastic, it's relatively small and easy to carry around (especialy with pancakes).
To sum it up, I really think it's one great camera, worth to enter DSLR with...
PS: I'm glad to see another english guy here on forum
PS: considering where you live, you may want to check this page, I think they have great prices for lenses and filters :

thanx axl, but i live in cormwall, london is a fair old way....

the main difference between super and non super is that the super has self cleaning senors....

and yes great lens compatability with the old manual k mounts too...

I have a question about the k100d super's continuous shooting mode after the 5 jpegs at 2.8fps it still continuously shoot unless you release the shutter button but at what speed is it shooting in after the 2.8fps burst?

It all depends on how fast your card is. If it's a SanDisk Ultra or similar, you could get about 1 fps for unlimited JPEGS when the buffer is full.

Considering that my previous digital was a Sony Mavica that took the 3.5" floppy, I'm absolutely in love with my K100D Super. The only problem I have is with 5 film bodies and 1 digital, I keep looking for a place to put film in the K100D.

Also, the Super will take full advantage of the SDM lenses whereas the K100D will use them as a screwdrive lens (noisier and possibly slower, but the same great IQ).

If the lenses has the screwdrive, at least, which a couple of Sigmas and the new Pentax 17-70 SDM probably won't have.
