Pentax k3 live-view noise jerk normal? Tested SR on and off...

Hello photo universe, was wondering if someone can enlighten me to why my k3 in live-view makes a weird jump/quirky jerk when changing contrasted scenes. Usually it happens when I point the view at the wall and then shift it to a bright subject like my lamp. Looking at a distance of more than about 2 feet it reacts just fine but anything closer with my 50mm SMC it just seems to try to catch up by auto exposing itself and creating this shifty noise.

Yes, this is normal. I believe it's the aperture actuator you hear.

In live-view if the scene is bright, it will stop down a few stops automatically (and then back again if less light is coming in) -- I think it is supposed to be protecting the sensor. All of the Pentax models do this that I know of. An annoying feature if you are trying to use manual focus and want to focus wide-open, although if you use the magnify function it will force it to open up all the way...
