Pentax Software

I just visited Pentax Canada website to see a few things about lenses, and, while browsing, I just saw software updates 3.51 of Pentax Remote Assistant, Pentax Photo Browser and Pentax Photo Laboratory. Those were ddated May 28, 2008 and the copyright is Hoya Corporation.

The good changes are shorter lens names, support for the 55-300, and the settings range goes to -4 and +4. Although now, the camera settings, such as sharpness and contrast, are not correctly reflected in the data list.

Worst bad thing is no improvement to interface (in fact, one window (Other settings with sensativity and contrat, etc) actually got bigger because they've added another tweakable item (for K20D users).

The exif data includes more items (for the 20D features), which is a negative if, like me, you save the data list. As a K100D user, there are some columns I delete as meaningless, and now there are more.

Software only a mother could love :-)

Unfortunately, it's still limited (as far as I can see), to 99 shots, which basically makes it useless for doing any timelapse stuff.

So true. If I see a fellow Canadian, an Aussie, a Brit or an American misspell aperture (i.e.: apature, aperature) again, I'll scream.

I expect to do a lot of screaming.

With all the countries represented on this forum, I think your neighbors aren't done hearing a lot of screaming from your place.

!! I say, !!! Misspellings!

I'm a college prof, so you'd think I'd be used to misspellings...since I see so many. By the way, my international students tend to spell better (they usually consult dictionaries), and use no worse grammar, than my U.S.-born students.
