Took my new and shiny Pentax DA 55-300mm WR for a good workout. AF Tracking for a Soccer game. A kids soccer game to boot, very unpredictable The K3 and DA 55-300 WR combo was good but not great. I had to refocus few times. AF-C, Expanded Area AF-9 points.AWB. This was also my first outing with the brand new 55-300 WR. Very impressed with the lens. Contrasty and sharp, very high class build quality. My hands were sore though. This combo surely needs a tripod/monopod

looks quite good to me.

Usually when I shoot, I try to frame the action, focus on a player and take a quick burst going they don't phase in and out of action too much. Btw, how are pictures uploaded to pf?

Which mode did you shoot in (P, Av, Tv, TAv, M)?. What were your shutter speeds and aperture? What were your settings in the Custom menu, items 16, 17, 18? This should be a pretty easy scenario for the K-3. I would expect at least a 90% hit rate.
