I have never used the video on either my K-5 or my K-3. I have a sony HD camcorder for video which is small and light, actually even that is getting less usage these days. Now my primary video camera is my iPhone 5s. Still, it is good to know that my K-5 and K-3 have video capability just in case an unexpected opportunity comes up.

Ya, that's why my response has been so brief, you get tired of repeating yourself.

I guess they think we will change our minds regarding video in time. We are shooters, not videographers

I enjoy the video features of my Pentax SLR. And, if the price is the same, why wouldn't one want them on the camera?

Using all the wonderful lenses I have in K mount works well with the SLR camera in movie mode.

I probably wouldn't be able to warrant the cost of a standalone IL video camera and photographic camera. That said, it would be interesting to see what Ricoh could do with a K-mount video specific camera. The technology is moving to video only anyways... very slowly. I think this thread could look interesting in 10 or 20 years.

That said, about 90%-95% of my K-5II use right now is photographs. So if it REDUCED the cost of the camera by at least 15-20%, then I might consider a photo only SLR. But at or near same price? give me video.

You mean you are a photographer rather than a videographer, right?
Both 'shoot'......
