Love the k20d grip

I've had it for a couple weeks now, and I just can't believe how comfortable it is. I don't care about the extra battery, heck I don't even put the extra one in. I am just amazed that even though the camera is a bit heavier with the grip, it "feels" alot lighter. It is much more secure and comfortable in my hand now. I have never had a battery grip on a camera before, and I am so glad I took the advice of a few here and bought it. If you haven't tried one, you should!

I agree 100% - I think it's given me at least one stop of shake reduction. I can now shoot even heavy lenses with almost no handshake. It's sounds silly to say that a grip can improve your photography, but in my case, it has.

When I first got the grip I had major buyer's remorse as the camera didn't feel right at all but I made a concerted effort to give it a while and see how it went. Not even a week later I couldn't stand how the camera felt without the grip.
I took it off the other day to do a low level shot on my little sunpak micro tripod that can't take much weight and be anywhere close to stable, and as soon as I finished the shooting I couldn't get the grip back on the body fast enough.

Hmmm, I have found that I like the body with out the grip much better. I guess my biggest issue is the lack of camera bags for such a beast. I did just find a new bag and so hopefully, I will be able to fit my camera and grip in it.

Even though I like my camera small, when i go to my K20D with grip, its just so comfortable that I also swap the grip when I use my K10D now.... maybe times for another grip..... GBA any one?

Love having the grip. Balances the body out when using lenses that are a bit weighty (Sigma 70mm Macro, Tamron 28-75mm).

its not as... "refined" but it works, i have one.

There are plenty of camera bags designed for "Pro" SLRs, which have basically the same dimensions as a DSLR with an added grip. Even my small Tamrac holster bag which was designed for "non-Pro" SLRs fits my K20D with grip, although it's a somewhat tight fit..

I feel that the K20D grip is a bit light so that the body is heavier on the top than the bottom, no matter a Lithium battery is inserted or not.

Nonetheless, I agree with you that the ergonomics are nice, overall speaking.

The Pentax grip has a few neat features like holding the camera plug so you don't end up losing it, as well as a storage space for a remote. I wish they would have made it to hold two batteries though.

Got the grip for my K10D, and now use it on my K20D. Love the thing, but honestly, don't use it unless I know I'll be doing a lot of portrait format shooting or need the extra battery power. Otherwise, I go without it.

One thing I don't like about it, for use as a walk-around, is that I use a Hakuba hand grip instead of a neck strap. The hand grip mounts okay with the grip, but the heal of my palm ends up too often pressing the grip exposure button. It is just at the right spot.

Love the thing, but honestly, don't use it unless I know I'll be doing a lot of portrait format shooting or need the extra battery power. Otherwise, I go without it.
