Thanks so much for all the comments! I texted the woman who was selling the $150 kx but she said someone else will probably buy it this week. The only other pentax dslr that I can find that is a decent price is a k200d for $170, I tried looking for others that you have suggested but either couldn't see any or they were closer to $500.

This is the k200d ad if you're interested:
Pentax K200D and Pentax DA 18-55 f3.5 - 5.6 lens | Digital SLR | Gumtree Australia Casey Area - Endeavour Hills | 1074683512

Thanks!
That one's an older model- I'd stick with the K-x. There should be plenty on ebay and even on our Marketplace here

I still miss mines so if you find one get it. I did wish it had focus peaking and illuminated focus points

The 200d is a weather-resistant body which can come in handy (when using WR lenses). It's also CCD not CMOS so no video. It cannot go up as high on ISO for night-sky imaging.

OK... too late to give comment, while K-x is great, the lack of focus point indication will drive some crazy.

Well, it was a nice to have but if using center point a majority of the time, it would be a non issue.
