sensor shift stitching?

How much closer does stitching images made using sensor shift/composition adjustment on for example the K5 bring the size of the aps-c file to a full frame file?

It makes a noticeable difference, and having lenses with larger image circles certainly helps. But I don't think trying to compare it to FF is the right way to look at it.

If I remember correctly, the sensor moves within an area corresponding to APS-H, which is about halfway between APS-C and FF.
