K20 connected in the video? Would be nice if it worked on the K5, maybe it does?

Price @ $30 you're 1\3 of the way to a Flucard which of course is wireless . Much more functional

Good thing to try if works well.
Only K3 works with Flucard. And I have a bunch of "older" cameras.

-- the only one feedback is not very positive. I wonder if there is anyone tried it.

They have a demo version. I might try it later.

The developer is a member here at Pentax Forums and has been soliciting test users for a Lightroom plugin for tethered operation from that program. With any luck they may check in here or if you have questions you can PM them:

So I took the challenge and hooked up a K5 with firmware 1.16 and FA31Ltd to the demo-application installed on my wife's Samsung S4. It basically works but has some issues

Tested in Av, TAv (except for the ISO testing below for obvious reasons) and M

aperture:
open/close works till opened to f/1.8; after that one has to use the camera to get it away from f/1.8
shutterspeed (exposure):
[+] gives sequence 1/8000 -> 1/4000 -> 1/2000 -> ..... ->15 -> 30; reverse order does not work but [-] sets 1/8000
iso:
one can go down from 12800 to 100 using [-]; one can only go one stop up when currently selected ISO is 100/200/400/...
exposure compensation (tested with 1/2 eV steps):
goes up to +8 eV using [+]; on the rear display of the camera, the 'cursor' goes outside the allocated area; [-] does not work
next [+] goes to -8 eV up; if compensation is negative, both [+] and [-] will bring it closer to 0
flash compensation:
only +0.5 eV; [-] does not work, [+] toggles between 0.0 and +0.5eV; if camera is set to anything but 0.0eV, [+] or [-] will set it to 0.0 eV
Other notes:
  • Camera controls remain functional; one can e.g set the flash compensation to -1eV using the camera,
  • Images can be view and zoomed in and a histogram is available.
  • The backlight of the top LCD flashes continuously at 2 or 3 flashes per second; possibly polling from the phone. I switched it off.
  • Photos are not stored on memory card; this might be normal for a tethering application, I don't know.
  • Does not work with K10D; the camera is not recognized in any of the connectivity settings (PC, PC-F and pictbridge).
  • If you have a Samsung Tab3 7", OTG does not work
  • Possibly because of the demo version, but the below image was not resized.

Below a 'sceenshot'

I hope this helps somebody in deciding.
