My K20 battery worked perfect for as long as I owned the camera, My K5 battery still running strong. However my k3 battery after just 8 months started to give up much faster then used to.

hmm.. my K-30 batteries are both 3 years old and still perform solid - though they haven't been under heavy use, as I mostly rely on AA's.

I sold my K20d a year ago and its battery was fine as well as the 3 Konica spares I had. Bought it in 2008. My K-5 is fine along with its Pentax spare. It is exactly 3 years old. Same for my K-01 which is 2 years old. The batteries for my K200d are fine also . . . oh wait, never mind.

The battery in my K10D is at least 6 years old and still holds a decent charge.

With batteries it all depends on how much you use them, if you keep them charged, and if you fully discharge/recharge them. I'm not 100% sure on this, but aren't the OEM batteries rated for around 500 cycles?

I lost mine after 20 months. It was in good condition until then, and I suspect it is still alive somewhere, although I don't believe the person who found it has much use for it.

My pentax batts perform better than any 3rd party brand I have tried.
Even the Wasabis that many seem to like here started to have short run times and would quit under heavy loads like lens OS.
Now I only buy OEM and they have worked well.

I guess thangs are pretty good in PentaxLand if somebody has to say the BATTERIES are trash to knock the brand.

All 3 K10D batteries, the two I bought with the K-01 and the two I got with the K-3 are alive and well, I don't know how many Q batteries I have - a LOT of them, The only batteries I've thrown out are Wasabi,

Mine is still going after 18 months, so I can't tick any box. Only have the one Pentax battery, my other three are from ebay, one for $22 and the other two for $11 each. I don't deliberately cycle through them, just whatever comes out of the bag first. I have not noticed any difference between them yet but I guess time will tell.

I have just bought an used K10D, 7 years old, 5900 actuations and the original battery which came in the box with the camera. It still works great and is able to take several hundreds of shoots with just one charge, I guess something around 250/350.

My D-Li90 and K-5 are from 2011 and still going strong. I bought two after-market batteries at about the same time and have been cycling my batteries since. But then, I have also taken an awful lot of O-GPS1 astrophotos ever since involving a 'constant' and significant load on the batteries (for keeping the shutter open and for moving the sensor).

One after market battery lost efefctively the last bit of capacity this year, the capacity of the other has decreased markedly by now.

Shuttercount is 47,400.
