Got My Camera Stuff Today, Need Help

Hey All,
Got my k1000 along with the 50mm and 135mm lens, they fit but I can't get the shutter button to release, I have turned offf the AF but still nothing happens. Is there any setting I need to know about in order to make them work on my k200d?

Thanks in Advance
Barry

P.S. The optics look good.

Try following the steps here:

K100D (Super) Pictorial guide to using manual lenses [imgs] [Page 1]: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

They helped me with my A50 on my K100D and it has pictures!

YES!!!

A BIG Thank You goes to you MrApollinax, My first attempt, forgot about setting the focal length at 50mm (reason it's a little blurry) I was testing what it could do at 100 ISO indoors with little light, the shot below was only shot with the help of an overhead 100 watt bulb. Looks promising for the future

Thanks Again
Barry

When you break down everything I got on Ebay, the 50mm 2.0 lens probably cost me about $12.00..compare that on what you'll pay for one of the similar newer Pentax lens with auto focus ability and you say to yourself " I can deal with going to the menu and making changes and focusing myself and getting a fast lens in return". I encourage everyone to go to Ebay and pick of a k1000, even if it's broken beyond repair, the standard lens alone is worth the price if you can get one for less than $50.00 (which is common), then resell the K1000 body on Ebay and get some of that money back, which I'm doing now along with the 136,mm 2.8 telephoto, I might get my entire $47.00 back and then some.

Although it's your money, You might regretselling the 135.

As i initially indicated a 135 is a very useful focal length, and even the f2.8 you have is as fast as any new lens you can buy and a whole lot lighter and smaller.

I already have the Sigma 70-300mm zoom and its lightweight, here's the deal I got...
Asahi Pentax K1000 35mm SLR camera, 2 lenses and flash - eBay (item 320262542860 end time Jun-12-08 09:14:45 PDT)

Zewrak, YOU WIN!! I love the old Spotmatics, lucky to fimd ove with a black body, I think they are rare, does it look as good as the picture? any of the black flaking off showing brass? The lenses enough made me drool.

Especially the incredible 50mm variants available for less than $100 (some less than $50 .)
....
Man I wish I was in states....
here in London, cheapest 50 from pentax I saw was M50 f1.2 (or was it 1.7) anyway it was for 90!!!
Now that compares very badly with between $50 and $100 you are talking about...

Ebay Results Update

Hey All,
The bidding is over and I was able to sell the K1000 body and the 135mm telephoto for $42.00 total which makes the net price for the 50mm f 2.0 lens...$5.00, not a bad deal if you ask me for a fast lens and polarizing filter.
