K200D Viewfinder vs K20D Viewfinder

I keep seeing the mentioning of a better viewfinder that the K10/K20 have over the K100/K200.

I am wondering, how much better are the viewfinders? Is this something that is immediately evident?

I ask this because many times I do manual focusing with my K200D and I feel wish the viewfinder was brighter or perhaps magnified more.

I have considered buying the loupe from Pentax for 1.2x, but I'm wondering if I would be better served just getting the K20D instead.

If there is any web resource that could give me an example, I would be grateful, my Googlefu is not pulling up anything at the moment.

(If you cannot tell, I'm slowing justifying selling off my 3-month old camera to upgrade -- I think the wife will kill me unless I give her good reasons!)

Perhaps if I give someone that knows the difference some choices, it would help?

The K20D viewfinder is ____________ better than the K200Ds.

1) Incredibly, indispensably

2) Noticeably, usefully

3) slightly, barely

4) indistinguishably, no

I have K100D & K20D.
Prism viewfinder is noticeably and usefully better than the Pentamirror.
Manual focus and optical preview DOF are easier.

There are days I think the K20 is noticeably better, but other days I can't tell the difference. Today was one of those days - I didn't see much difference between the two cameras when I was using a 100mm macro and a K-mount Tak 135 with an extension tube (switched them around between the two cameras).

I can only speak for the K20. I shoot a lot with manual focus Pentax lenses--6 different ones. To be honest, and I have bought and installed the 1.2 eyepiece, I wish the view finder were brighter and easier to focus with.

What I have done, following in the footsteps of many here, is to purchase a split focus prism.

Regards,

Ernest

Yes, I have been eyeing (pun intended!) the Katz Eye for the K20D. If I am going to step up to K20D (unsure), I will definitely get a Katz Eye.

I have a *istDS, which has a pentaprism, and a K200D, which has a pentamirror, and I don't notice much difference. Some people do, and I'm not going to say that they are *wrong* for seeing it. You have to try it for yourself and make up your own mind. BTW, I was manually focusing an A*300 with my K200D at a stage-lit graduation ceremony tonight, and I had no trouble getting good focus for 99% of my shots. And my over-40 eyesight is not that great
