Both of the 'used' K-50 sellers on Amazon are 3rd parties, not Amazon itself. They aren't even "fulfillment by Amazon" sellers. Even though they are on Amazon, they might as well be eBay 'Buy It Now' listings - completely disconnected from Amazon's pricing. The sellers may have listed their items when Amazon was asking $500 for a new K-50, and never changed them.
Buy it new from a known reputable photographic dealer even if it costs a little more. Amazon may have a good reputation for own stock items, but I feel a known specialist dealer is better bet than an Amazon 3rd Party. They are also in a better posistion I think to offer advice on your purchase.

Thanks for all your insights. I'll wait a while in the hope that the price of a new K50 will drop a little, although right now it's a great bargain at $291.

Personal opinion is that it will fluctuate a bit between say $270 - $300 for a while and then vanish quietly when the new models are released. The K50 replacement has yet to be announced so far. The KS2 is a functional replacement but not in the same lineup and not the true replacement.

I wouldn't wait - grab it when you can afford it and don't worry over $15-30 changes at this price.

I totally agree. The camera is an absolute steal at this price. Why wait and possibly miss out on a fabulous deal when you might at best get another few dollars off.

It is $294.95 from B&H, with a free 16GB card and 4% reward.

That $12 reward could go towards a used AF200 flash which costs $20, an extra battery, etc.

I say, go for it!
