Any Camera shops in the Detroit area with used Pentax Lenses?

Greetings.... heading to Detroit area in a couple weeks...curious if there is any good camera/pawn shops in the area with a selection of used lenses for K mount Pentax. I'm on the hunt for a Macro lense

Westborn Camera in Dearborn and Woodward Camera in Birmingham are probably your best bets, but I'd call and see what they've got first. CameraMall in Ann Arbor (30 miles from Detroit) is also worth an inquiry...

Are you going to be the actual city, or in the suburbs? If you plan to go exploring pawn shops and junk stores in the actual city... I'd suggest making different plans.

I live in the area, but haven't seen any yet. But then again, I've only been to one camera store so far. I drive by another one on the way home from work everyday that I have yet to stop in. Westborn and Woodward would probably be your best bet. Or any pawn shops in the suburbs. Could check Craigslist also. I know my mom saw some vintage manual lenses in a few antique stores in the downriver suburbs. She didn't know what brand they were, but that is also an option.

I stopped in Camera Mart USA yesterday in Pontiac. They didn't really have anything that good though. An older Tamron 70-300 telemacro, a Takumar F70-210, an FA35-80, and an M50 f/2 that was mounted on a film body.

Prices ranged from $50-$80. So about average. I happened to buy the newer version of the Tamron they had there for $75, but I haven't tested it out yet except some shots in my room, but it seems to work just fine. They really didn't have much of a Pentax selection though They did, however, have a few brand new Tamron lenses and some new DA and DAL lenses and accessories. So I'll definitely be stopping in there more often since they're an authorized Ricoh/Pentax retailer.

Westborn Camera in Dearborn has a pretty decent selection of old manual K-mount lenses. Worth a shot to see if they have anything you want.

You should check out the Website for the Canadian Camera Store "Henry's" for what they have in stock or can be shipped to their Windsor store for you. Then it is just a quick hop across the border where you can take advantage of the low Canadian Buck with at least 25% discount on whatever you buy.

I remember going into Camera Mart, circa 2007/08, and they still had a K110D sitting on the shelf.

It's actually a really nice store, just not a lot to pick from if you don't shoot with C&N or Sony (which I understand too).

Great experience at Western camera. They were crazy fair on trading a lense in on a 100mm Pentax Macro. Went their twice and both times it was a pleasant experience. Their prices on other stuff was great. Found a 2 stop ND filter fro $10.00.

Great people

Thanks for the referral

You're welcome! Now that I know they have Pentax gear, I'll definitely be stopping in there more. Not sure which worker you talked to, but the one who helped me when I went there actually shot Pentax too. He said he had a K5 and loved it for doing portraits.
