My first K-3 II, my first HD 16-85 and my first HD 55-300 are on it's way!!!

yeah, I know that this telezoom is not an outstanding lense but I wanted to have something to cover long ranges while discovering this misterious 16-85 😃

You're wrong, the 55-300 is indeed a good lens, not great like a 70-200 or 50-135 2.8 but it is a cheap alternative. Check out these sample photos below.

Good to hear that, I've just spent a lot of time reading user opinions and many of them aren't happy with its edge sharpness, especially between 200 and 300.

Yes I will definitely need primes for sure, that 50mm 1.4 must be amazing glass!

But after these two lenses I might go for another telezoom with more aperture. (damn expensive but so attractive).

Congrats on the Pentax combo, you will definitely love those ^^
After this you might one to test the legend of Pentax lens, the 3 FA Limited

I tested the FA 31 and the FA 77 and now I own them both ^^ they're legend for a reason !

I hope you know what you're doing...the K-3 II is one hell of a camera and will, in my opinion, humble a novice. I am flipping between choosing the 16-85 and the limited 20-40 in my mind. Already have the 55-300, Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro (great lens, touchy focusing), the 18-135 WR, and the two plastic fantastic's the 35mm and 50mm, I'd recommend those two if you want really good lenses for not much cash. I got a K-x (gathering dust), a K-30 which I gave to my 6 year old son, and a K-3. Very happy with all my cameras...I took it from entry to pro (yes I consider the K3 a PRO camera). Best of luck and welcome aboard matey...

Yes, absolutely great pictures out from those primes. So ridiculous people don't even know about this brand.

I see you've got a lot of weapons. I also consider it as a pro camera and I'm sure that my opinion will be just stronger when I'll feel it in my hands.

Everything you will have is newer than mine (k-3, 18-135 and DA55-300 old version)... congratulation and you will have a blast and lots of fun!!

The 3 amigos are indeed a legend of its own, I have all 3. For convenience you may want to consider the 20-40, which is very versatile since you can use it outdoors and indoors (for low light shooting as well as flash).
