no, you don't "buy images" at all, your failed post that attempted to compare 24mp with 36mp indicated that you don't understand what it takes to get good pq, and you don't care.

you think that sensor size doesn't matter, that ff and mf are a waste of money, why do you even own an aps-c camera? you would be just as happy shooting with your smartphone.

here, i've located a euro smartphone forum for you: Smartphone photography

you can sit around with the rest of the euros and laugh at all the pentax people who want ff cameras.

Sure, but the camera should bring usefull feature and theses features could be different for different people.
no, a camera doesn't somehow magically change it's features and functionality based on who owns it.

the difference is whether or not the owner understands the advantages that bigger sensors offer, and knows how to utilize said advantages.

why are you on this forum? maybe you own a pentax, but here you are telling us that your pentax doesn't matter, you can do just as well with a smartphone.

stop contradicting yourself.

Take the challenge.

BTW, since when is it your concern why anyone is in this forum?

You could never pass the challenge so all your arguments are moot.

you are the one who can't back up what he claims with the gear that he owns.

you tell us that cameras don't matter, but you own at least one pentax.

tell us why that is, hmmm?

you can't explain yourself.

Hey. Spiral, why don't you calm down. OSV all your doing is feeding it. This post was for me, to see, if I should upgrade my gear. And to learn a little bit. Not to start fights. On the internet. So lets all just go back to talking about the FF and A7R.

Indeed. Well said. The A7R takes great pictures, but I'd wait for the Pentax FF. (Only a bit more than a month from now, it will all be revealed!)
Why would I like FF? Well, it's a bit of a compromise. I'd like a bigger sensor as current technology seems to get more out of bigger sensors. I already have a fair bit of FF glass. I like bigger cameras because I'm not good at holding onto little things. My K-5 is as small as I'd like to go. I've played with the A7R and, other than the horrible viewfinder, it's a nice camera, if slightly difficult to hold. The viewfinder is truly bad, unfortunately.

In the perfect world, I'd buy a Phase1, but I'm a normal person, with a wife and kids, with photography as a hobby - so unless I win the Lottery - which i never will, because I don't buy lottery tickets, I'm sorry to say that even the Pentax FF is likely to be beyond my budget - at least for a while.

I tried out holding the A7 yesterday, a friend had it. And It feels like I'm holding my old P3n or an old body like that. the VF on other hand I thought was okay not great but it felt like I just was looking at Live View in a tunnel.

Really?

I bet I can post 10 images here, all shot on different cameras and you wouldn't be able to place the camera to image. Want to give it a try?

Name the camera.
I can tell you it is very oversharpened and noise reduced in pp and that I dont make prints that are 800x500pixels. I could never tell you what brand of camera but judging by the amount of sharpening and detail compensation and artifacts in this one it is less than 24mp and definately not 36mp. I would say by looking at it 14.4 or 16 mp but im leaning more to 14.4mp. Im pretty sure it is an aps-c sensor as well.

You can see here even at iso 2500 how sharp the details are hand held from on top of a moving bus using a sony a7 24mp and a 25 year old Nikon E lens

For what it is worth, it is hard to tell on a lot of landscape photos what format they were shot with, particularly at web sizes. If you don't plan to print bigger than 12 inches on a side, then you will be more hard pressed to see differences in formats (unless you are shooting high iso or shallow depth of field).

Are we back to the "here, let my post a picture to show how good my camera" thing is. If it fits in 1080 you're not showing me anything I couldn't have taken with my *ist at 6mp. 3000 x 2000 is lots of oversampling for a 1080 x 600 image.

I like the NY shot and the high ISO performance, but, I haven't taken an image like that in my whole life. I'd be absolutely insane to buy a camera based on that capability.

But it's good you put it up there for folks who might want to take images like that. It's just probably not likely to be the average Pentax person.

I know you like your picture, but posting it a forum thread and saying "look how good this is" is rarely relevant. Post it in the critique forum however and I'll have a go at it.

Hundreds of people a day take this shot. At the moment I took this shot there were 30 other people on top of the double decker bus tour taking shots in every direction with different cameras. My son was using a pentax kx right beside me.

were you able to test the magnify function in the evf, for manual focusing? focus peaking takes some setup time and practice to get the best results.

if "setting effect ON" is set in the menu, you'll see the exposure of the shot before you take it, no ovf camera can do that.

i usually adjust the diopter with the lens cap on, using whatever is displayed on the screen.

I don't find resolution or high iso to be issues for my style of shooting. I would prefer an OVF to an EVF at this point, but that is mostly a matter of taste. Biggest thing for me is being able to use my current Pentax glass without any kludginess or adapters.

Honestly, edge sharpness and resolution are often over rate aspects of an image...

The sony wifi lineup can magically change features ...You can add Play memory apps like bracket pro(i like it alot...allows Apertur,Iso,Shutter and Flash Bracketing)
