Precisely. I'm trying to get a toss in the car kit, based on inexpensive but decent equipment, since I work downtown and have to park in a somewhat seedy area. It's not the worst place, but I would rather not have $1,000 of gear stolen either, whether someone grabs my tote or steals it out of the car.
I want something I can take along all the time, since there have been several times I've said "I wish I had my camera". I started with the tiny lightweight *ist DS, and one of my MF lenses. My hope is replace my A50 with a DA40, and AF500.
